A Supportive and Fun
Exploration of the Flute

 

In its second year, the Flutastic Days of Summer consists of three exciting days of power-packed, memorable instruction and hands on practice in all aspects of flute playing. Ideal for students new to summer music programs, or who work or are otherwise engaged during the week, these all day weekend events can be attended separately or as a mini-course in flute performance, practice, and musicianship.

Each Flutastic Day will be different and includes several interactive lecture sessions on some of the topics above, a masterclass, and a concert at the end of the day featuring many of the new things the students have learned in that day, as well as some chamber music pieces. Snacks and a picnic lunch are included in the price.

 

The classes are led by two of the area’s most innovative teachers:

What to Expect in the  Flutastic Days of Summer

  Each day will consist of the following sessions:

Session I: Tone production, Vibrato, warm-ups, etc.

 

Session II: Help! This master class session will focus on helping students with specific personal difficulties and finding ways to make playing hard stuff easier. Students should bring a piece to work with.

 

Session III: Focus on Fluting:

Fun ways to improve general flute skills, such as fast fingers, intonation, practice tips, nerves, etc. (Students  will be divided into groups depending on their interests)
